Last May our partner and friend Ricardo Villas Kleever passed away. Ricardo was among the first promoters of the UNESCOSOST network, welcoming researchers from the UNESCO Chair on Sustainability and always open to the creation of new collaboration proposals.
Ricardo Villasís was a doctor in Environmental Sciences from the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosí (UASLP); Master's Degree in Housing and Urban Management for the Université d'Aix-Marseille, France, and architectural training from the UASLP. Professor-researcher at the UASLP; Guest lecturer and lecturer at various higher education institutions, among them the Technological Institute of Construction from the Autonomous University of Morelos State, the Polytechnic University of Catalonia and the University of Alcalá de Henares. He has published articles and book chapters on urban development, sustainability and urban indicators, habitability and violence in cities. He was in charge of the Local Urban Observatory (CONACYT-SEDESOL, UN-Habitat) and the project of the Citizen Safety Observatory of SLP (OCS-SLP).
Without any doubt, those who were lucky enough to know him, we will always remember him. To be a person capable of combining his extraordinary brilliance with exquisite simplicity and friendliness, always close to his partner, whoever he was. From the UNESCO Chair on Sustainability we want to thank you for your great work and dedication. Thank you for sharing this international adventure, always keeping your smile.
thanks Ricardo
