From October 23rd to 25th, 2024, partners from the SureNexus PRIMA project gathered at the National Technical University of Athens to share progress and key achievements. In-depth discussions covered multiple facets of the project, with particular emphasis on advancing the roadmap for the AI modeling tool.
Sessions also addressed collaborative strategies for implementing water, energy, food, and environmental (WEFE) solutions, along with approaches to strengthen community engagement and promote practical adoption across regions.
SureNexus will support informed and evidence-based decision making for a fair transition to climate change adaptation and mitigation as well as sustainable development enhancing the implementation of the Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystems (WEFE) Nexus approach. The general approach is to produce healthy and sufficient food, with less resources (water, soil, energy and nutrients) through regenerative and precision agriculture including permaculture practices and with minimal impact to the environment.
SureNexus main objective is to bridge the barriers and resistance to change, through the development of interconnected stakeholder and Demonstration Sites networks.
At the same time, SureNexus boosts local and regional sustainable development, coupled with conservation of biodiversity and mitigation of land degradation.
A special networking session was carried out, with the presentation of the projects Cardimed, Greenadapt, Remedies and Accelwater.
Most time of the meeting was dedicated to update the roadmap for AI modelling tool and for their use as a selection technology to improve WEFE Nexus metrics. This tool is being designed to support sustainable resource management by integrating diverse data sources and enhancing predictive capabilities.
Sessions also addressed collaborative strategies for implementing water, energy, food, and environmental (WEFE) solutions, along with approaches to strengthen community engagement through the launch of the Stakeholder Platform and promote practical adoption across regions.
