Summary
Indicators are one of the tools available in planning and management projects that aid in the decision-making process and the monitoring of those decisions on the road to the sustainable use and management of water and natural resources. However, the quality and reliability of the indicators depend on the constant improvement in the means to evaluate and design sets of criteria. The identification of criteria to evaluate indicators and their selection of subsequence is not an ordinary task. The research identified a proliferation of unbound criteria in use in the domains of sustainability and water resource management. In response, a synthesis and consolidation process was carried out to reduce the level of redundancies and identify potential candidates for the "basic criteria" that are identified as a relevant part of most evaluation frameworks.

Jordi Morató. UNESCO Chair on Sustainability Coordinator - UPC
Doctor in Microbiology, with 20 years of experience in research, education and management of sustainable human development projects related to resources (water, soil, biodiversity) and circular economy and participatory community development at the local and regional level.
Dr. Jordi Morató has carried out a review of the current situation of health emergency and climate emergency, to go on to detail what indicators can be used today to measure transformation. Starting from the global SDG agenda, the Paris Climate Agreement and the World Urban Agenda, the main indicators for the transformation of industrial processes from a linear economy to a Circular economy were reviewed, and in particular, Bioeconomy proposals.
Bioeconomy, understood as the circular management of agricultural waste and its incorporation into value chains, will undoubtedly be one of most promising work lines for Latin America.
In the second phase of the webinar, the principles of urban transformation have been reviewed through the use of nature-based solutions (NBS). Starting from the principle of reducing the impact of any economic activity and decarbonising our cities and processes, some indicators linked to the introduction of NBS and the circular economy of water are reviewed.
The main economic activities must demonstrate in a few years their "neutrality" with respect to the impact on ecosystem services.
